Sustain Hudson
2-WEEK REFRESH
Situation
The Sustain Hudson Initiative was designed to increase sustainability throughout the Hudson community, in business operations and in the local environment. As independently owned Hudson businesses, this committee brings awareness and makes simple, yet impactful, decisions and suggestions that enhance the community.
With a number of projects introduced, Sustain Hudson was eager to educate others on sustainable practices and increase membership. Mason Jar Marketing’s values of sustainability and community fused with Sustain Hudson’s marketing needs created a perfect partnership. A strategy and community presence were essential.
Solution
Mason Jar Marketing recommended a 2-Week Marketing Refresh to update the organization’s website and create social media pages. Additionally, with an ongoing relationship, Sustain Hudson requested supplemental materials: press releases, membership commitment forms and website updates.
Sustain Hudson’s website was designed and launched, their Facebook page was refreshed, and their Instagram page created all in 2-weeks. Through collaboration with the initiative’s key leadership along with other leaders under the Sustain Hudson umbrella, a current, content-rich website included photography and a nod to the initiative’s participants. The intuitive navigation was built to lead the user through each initiative and most importantly provide a call to action to boost membership.
Through Mason Jar Marketing’s connections and resources, a pro bono, 4.5-minute feature was secured, taped, edited and played on the video channel The Hudson Show. A press release was also written to prompt a feature in the St. Croix Valley Magazine.
Success
At the start of the relationship with Sustain Hudson, 8 local businesses had committed to the initiative. To date, 26 businesses have joined the force. Social media followers increased over 350% in 6 months on each of the channels. Website visits have month to month increases of over 190%. The Hudson Show episode resulted in nearly a $2000 savings.
